About The Position

The University of New Hampshire School of Nursing invites applications for a Clinical Placement Coordinator. The clinical placement coordinator is responsible for facilitating clinical placements for nursing students. This job will involve collaboration with faculty in identifying and negotiating clinical placement settings, appropriate preceptors, and other clinical-related learning experiences. The clinical placement coordinator will arrange all aspects of the clinical experience including identifying the need for new contracts with potential clinical agencies and/or preceptors and assuring compliance with contractual agreements. The clinical placement coordinator will work closely with those involved in assuring compliance with background checks, health/immunization requirements, and drug screens as appropriate. The clinical placement coordinator will also collaborate with the Director of Nursing and program directors to determine placement needs each semester.

Nice To Haves

  • Demonstrated knowledge of advanced nursing practice educational requirements of national credentialing organizations (ANCC and AANP.)
  • Demonstrated knowledge of nursing clinical credentialing.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of APRN nursing placement regulations and requirements in NH and neighboring states (e.g., Massachusetts, Maine, and Vermont.)
  • Demonstrated experience working as a member of a multi-person clinical placement team.

Responsibilities

  • Coordination of student clinical placements.
  • Collaborate regarding program needs with the Program Directors of the UNH Nursing tracks/ programs.
  • Secure clinical placements and practical experiences in collaboration with students and program directors.
  • Communicate via email, phone and/or in person with nurse educators and/or placement coordinators in hospitals and clinics to develop clinical placements for students.
  • Oversee clinical scheduling systems, maintain accurate student placement records, and generate reports for faculty, leadership, and accrediting bodies.
  • Develop and implement strategies to secure placements and preceptors
  • Provide guidance on placement logistics, troubleshoot issues during clinical rotations, and collaborate with faculty to resolve site or student concerns.
  • Maintain compliance with clinical agency agreements and other regulatory requirement
  • Collaborate with the Clinical Contract and Compliance Coordinator on securing affiliation agreements for agreements for programs.
  • Track and verify student requirements (e.g., immunizations, background checks, certifications) and ensure all documentation meets institutional and site-specific compliance standards.
  • Develop, revise, update forms as needed that are used to communicate with agencies and preceptors.
  • Maintain record of clinical logs of students in the graduate program working in conjunction with faculty.
  • Schedule and notify students and clinical faculty regarding the clinical orientations required for each placement.
  • Revise and update processes for the evaluation of adjunct, preceptor, and clinical site feedback in collaboration with program directors as required by accreditation standards.
  • Represent the School of Nursing at internal and external Meetings.
  • Actively participate in School of Nursing, clinical affiliation, and professional community meetings, contributing relevant updates on clinical placements and partnerships.
  • Support Recruitment and Outreach Efforts -Attend recruitment events and job fairs to promote the nursing program, strengthen relationships with potential clinical partners, and support student pipeline development.
  • Engage in Regional Collaboration -Attend meetings to maintain partnerships, stay informed of regional clinical placement trends, and ensure alignment with workforce and regulatory expectations.
