Tallahassee State College is seeking a Nursing Clinical Faculty member to join the Healthcare Professions Division. Requirements

  • Requires an active license as an RN in the state of Florida.
  • At least two years of clinical experience.
  • Hold a BSN degree.
  • Complete the online TSC application.
  • Submit a Resume/CV.
  • Submit a Cover Letter, addressing commitment to student retention, success and completion; commitment to development and assessment of student learning; use of technology and innovative approaches to enhance teaching and learning, including online learning and alternative delivery systems; willingness to support a diverse population of learners inside and beyond the classroom; and ability to work in a participatory and collegial setting.
  • Submit unofficial transcript(s) of all relevant college coursework.
  • Submit a Teaching Philosophy.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrates effective instructional effort by maintaining high academic standards, teaching current and relevant curriculum, communicating content effectively, and cultivating an environment best suited to learning.
  • Provides instructor syllabi that comply with Policy 05-12.
  • Ensures grades accurately reflect student achievements of learning outcomes, with a primary focus on learning assessments.
  • Teaches classes at assigned time and place and maintains office hours in accordance with the approved schedule.
  • Maintains and reports accurate records of attendance and grades when required by state and federal law and college policy and procedures.
  • Demonstrates active engagement in defining appropriate curriculum content and revision of curriculum as appropriate, including reviewing course objectives, preparing or revising master course syllabi, and participating in the selection of textbooks and resources.
  • Revises courses or develops new courses as needed to assure relevancy and appropriateness of curriculum.
  • Demonstrates significant contributions to the college through service and support of college policies and procedures, including encouraging students to utilize college resources, engaging in service to the college and division through committee participation, and providing service to the discipline through leadership positions in state or national organizations.
  • Participates in the advising process.
  • Follows college policy and procedures in all matters.
  • Demonstrates active engagement in professional development by developing and implementing a plan for professional development that may include innovation in instruction, curriculum, or service.
