The Nursing Attendant functions as an integral part of the patient care team by performing selected patient care treatments and tasks as delegated by licensed nurse. This role is accountable for own actions in performing duties as assigned and for which they are trained. This includes recognition and understanding of the physical, cognitive, and psychosocial changes unique to the age/population group served on the unit. The position is on the 2 East Surgical unit, a 30-bed unit with a primary focus on surgical patients, including all orthopedics, urology, and bariatric cases. An individualized orientation program with knowledgeable preceptors focuses on clinical skill development and enhancement of the professional role within the Med-Surg environment. This is a PRN position requiring a minimum of 24 hours off shift per 6-week schedule, including 12-hour day/evening/night shifts, and weekend and holiday coverage as needed. Shift and Weekend Differential are eligible.
