Nursing Assistant PRN
About The Position
This is a PRN (as needed) position for a Nursing Assistant within a float pool at Royal Oak Hospital. The float pool provides flexible staffing across all 36+ inpatient nursing units, supporting adult, pediatric, and women's health patient populations. The unit is described as a close-knit group that prides itself on knowing and supporting individual team members. Royal Oak Hospital is recognized by U.S. News & World Report and is a major academic and referral center with Level I adult and Level II pediatric trauma designations. It has achieved Magnet designation four consecutive times and houses Michigan’s first Diagnostic Imaging Center of Excellence.
Requirements
- High school graduate or equivalent
- American Heart Association or American Red Cross Basic Life Support required
Nice To Haves
- Previous hospital or nursing home experience preferred
- Current CNA certification preferred
Responsibilities
- Provides care to the patient according to the plan of care, unit routine and hospital policy under the direction of a Registered Nurse.
- Safe transport of patients via wheelchair or stretcher, dispatch services and appropriate documentation of services.
- Provides the services of an Observer for any patient on a patient care unit who has been assessed to require constant observation, either in person or via remote video monitoring, to maximize his/her safety.
- Performs general receptionist and clerical duties to facilitate efficient functioning of the nursing unit.
- Documentation of care provided in the electronic medical record.
