The goal is to be the best and only place employees want to work. The Nursing Assistant role involves assisting in the treatment and care of patients under the direction of a Staff RN. This includes providing personal care, collecting and documenting vital signs, managing patient drainage, assisting with pre-operative, intra-operative, and post-operative care, reporting patient condition changes, assisting with treatment procedures, maintaining supplies, and reporting malfunctioning equipment. The position also requires compliance with HIPAA, professionalism, and ensuring patient confidentiality.

Requirements

  • Ability to obtain CPR/When Seconds Count/HOPE certification within the first six months of employment
  • Ability to physically exert 50 to 100 pounds of force occasionally, 25 to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or 10 to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects
  • Ability to perform frequent patient handling activity

Nice To Haves

  • High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
  • STNA certification
  • Nursing assistant experience

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the treatment and care of the patient under the direction of a Staff RN
  • Provide personal care that includes bathing, feeding, skin and mouth care and changing bed lines
  • Collect, document, and report vital signs such as: temperature, blood pressure, pulse, height and weight
  • Empty patient drainage containers and maintain accurate intake and output records
  • Assist with pre-operative, intra-operative and post-operative care which includes, positioning, lifting and turning
  • Report changes observed in condition or behavior of patient
  • Assist with treatment procedures
  • Assist in maintaining supplies and report malfunctioning equipment
  • Remain compliant with HIPAA, maintain professionalism and ensure confidentiality of patient information
