About The Position

The Nursing Assistant performs designated tasks in the provision of age-appropriate care for patients under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse. This role is for the 2 West Medical Telemetry unit and is a Part-Time position with hours from 7a - 7p. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) required within 90 days of hire.

Nice To Haves

  • Certified Nursing License (CNA) preferred.
  • Six months experience in a hospital or long-term care facility preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Performs designated tasks in the provision of age-appropriate care for patients under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse.
  • Obtains and documents reported height and weighs patient on admission and documents.
  • Turns and positions patients every 2 hours as indicated, using proper body mechanics.
  • Assists and promotes activity, ambulation, up in chair and other activities as ordered.
  • Assists patients with personal hygiene, including as showering, bathing, shaving, shampooing, perianal-care, catheter care and oral care.
  • Takes and records vital signs accurately within established time frame.
  • Consistently performs hourly rounds to ensure patient safety and promote customer satisfaction.
