Nursing Assistant Class
About The Position
Marquis Companies offers a Nursing Assistant Training Course for individuals pursuing a career as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) in long-term care. The course provides instruction and practice to build the knowledge and skills needed to take the State of Oregon Competency Exam. Training includes classroom instruction, hands-on simulations in a lab setting, and clinical practice at company facilities working directly with residents. The fast-paced course runs Monday through Friday for approximately four weeks. Classes are offered monthly at Marquis Piedmont and Marquis Tualatin; specific dates and times are provided in the class schedules.
Requirements
- Be at least 17 years old.
- Provide legal documentation establishing identity and eligibility for employment in the U.S.
- Be willing to undergo a criminal background check and employment reference check.
- Be professional, attentive, and ready to participate.
- Be able to lift 40 pounds.
- Be able to remain on your feet for long periods.
- Be proficient in reading, writing, and comprehending English.
Responsibilities
- Participate in classroom instruction, lab simulations, and clinical practice with residents.
- Study for approximately 2–3 hours per night.
- Develop the knowledge and skills needed to take the State of Oregon Competency Exam.
