Nursing Assistant - General Surgery Adult/Peds
About The Position
The Nursing Assistant provides direct patient care under the direction of a Registered Nurse, utilizing their skill and expertise to complement other health care providers. The General Surgery Adult/Peds unit (4W) is a medical/surgical unit that cares for both pediatric and adult patients. It has 28 inpatient beds, 7 of which are in a secured area for pediatric patients but can be used interchangeably for pediatric or adult patients based on the need. For adults, the unit specializes in post-operative care after general surgeries including bariatric weight-loss procedures, colorectal, urogynecology, among others. For pediatric patients, the unit cares for many common medical conditions such as bronchiolitis, pneumonia, sepsis, asthma, diabetes, etc. The unit handles its complex patient variety with integrity, compassion, and skill using a team-based approach.
Requirements
- Must be current on the State of Minnesota Nursing Assistant Registry OR be an LPN student or a Jr. level nursing student, which means completion of first quarter clinicals with an accredited RN or LPN program.
