Under the direction/supervision of an RN, this position provides basic nursing care for an assigned group of patients across various units. This includes General Nursing Units caring for patients from age 15 years to maturity, Special Care Areas for patients from age 15 years through adult with high-risk conditions, and Maternal Child Units (Labor and Delivery for pregnancy-related conditions, Nursery for newborns until discharge). The role also involves Pediatric care for patients from neonate through age eighteen, GI Lab Unit care for toddlers (beginning age 24 months) through adult, Chemical Dependent Unit and Psychiatric Unit care for adult patients and families with emotional problems, Emergency Unit care for presenting patients of all ages, and Surgical Services care for patients from neonate to geriatric. The Nursing Assistant is expected to complete established competencies for the position within a designated introductory period and perform other related duties as assigned.
