This vital role provides essential assistance and comfort to patients, ensuring they receive the best possible experience during their healthcare journey. The Nursing Assistant works under the direction/supervision of an RN, providing basic nursing care for assigned groups of patients across various units. These units include General Nursing Units (patients 15 years to maturity), Special Care Areas (patients 15 years through adult with high-risk conditions), Maternal Child Units (Labor and Delivery for pregnancy-related conditions), Nursery (newborns until discharge), Pediatric (neonate through age eighteen), GI Lab Unit (toddlers from 24 months through adult), Chemical Dependent Unit and Psychiatric Unit (adult patients and family with emotional problems), Emergency Unit (patients of all ages), and Surgical Services (neonate to geriatric). The role involves completing established competencies within a designated introductory period and performing other related duties as assigned.
