About The Position

Seeking a nursing assistant to serve in the surgery department at Essentia Health's Fargo Hospital on 32nd Avenue in Fargo, North Dakota. This NA or CNA works Monday-Friday 10:30am to 7:00 pm. No weekend, holiday, or on-call rotations are required. A $1500 sign-on incentive is available with a 2-year commitment.

Requirements

Certified Nursing Assistant through the North Dakota Department of Health preferred.
If not certified as a Nursing Assistant, must be registered as a Nurse Assistant through the North Dakota Department of Health within 3 months from date of employment.
BLS certification required within 3 months of hire.
Surgical experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

Providing direct care to patients and serving the needs of patients in a manner conducive to their safety and comfort, under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse, Nurse Manager, Assistant Head Nurse, and/or Department Director (possibly with guidance from an LPN) to contribute to meeting the mission and goals of Essentia Health.
Providing personal hygiene care, assisting with nutritional needs, providing comfort care and other assistance, appropriately and safely transferring patients, taking vital signs and completing recordkeeping, recognizing and promptly reporting changes in patient condition to the RN, and maintaining a safe, clean environment for patients to promote the healing process.
Works within job scope to meet the requirements of the Joint Commission and other applicable federal, state and local regulatory and accrediting agencies.
