The Nursing Assistant - Neuro/Medical position is a part-time role on the night shift, requiring 24 hours per week, with two 12-hour shifts from 6:30 pm to 7:00 am, including rotating weekends and holidays. The role involves assisting Registered Nurses (RNs) with daily patient care, including hygiene, feeding, ambulation, and positioning. Responsibilities also include measuring and documenting vital signs and patient data in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR), performing purposeful rounding, and assisting with patient admissions, transfers, and discharges. The Nursing Assistant will collect specimens, perform point-of-care testing, complete errands, and manage supplies. The role requires performing patient positioning and transporting duties, assisting with nutritional needs, and maintaining skin integrity. Depending on unit requirements and under RN direction, tasks may include removing IVs, providing post-mortem care, and performing bladder scans. Adherence to infection prevention policies, including hand hygiene and aseptic procedures, is crucial. The position requires demonstrating knowledge and skills for age-appropriate patient care, understanding growth and development principles, and assessing patient needs based on age-specific requirements.
