About The Position

Performs routine assistive tasks to assist the Registered Nurse to meet basic patient needs, unlicensed assistive personnel. Assists patients with activities of daily living. Turns and repositions patients alone or with assistance. May transport patients and assist with walking. Assists with fall prevention interventions and patient restraints as delegated. Provides patient care as delegated by the RN including, but not limited to, non-sterile soaks, application of non-sterile simple dressings, perineal care. Performs data collection including vital signs, fluid intake and outtake and basic and sterile specimen collection. Properly documents and maintains data on medical record and informs RN of activities performed, observations of patients and changes in patient status. Runs errands, answers telephone, answers and responds to call lights. Performs point of care testing as trained and delegated by RN. Reports lab values to RN. Provides and documents comfort and non-pharmacological pain management measures. Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Completion of a nursing assistant or patient care tech program.
  • No experience required.
  • Current or former CNA certification as proof of completed state required training at time of hire.
  • CNA - Certified Nursing Assistant certification, registration, or license.
  • Basic computer skills / Data entry skills
  • Mathematical skills
  • Working knowledge of patient equip (suction, vitals, defib)
