About The Position

The Nursing Assistant (NA) serves as a caregiver to patients during the scheduled work period, providing patient-centered nursing care and daily living assistance under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). This role is in the inpatient Oncology department, supporting patients and families throughout the cancer care journey. The position is full-time, with a straight night shift schedule and 36 scheduled hours per week.

Requirements

Obtain and maintain required department-specific competencies and certifications.
For positions in North Dakota or Minnesota, if not a Certified Nursing Assistant, be listed on the applicable state Nursing Assistant Registry within four months of hire.
For positions in Wisconsin, be listed on the Wisconsin Nurse Aide Registry with current work eligibility, or be a student nurse enrolled at a Wisconsin Board of Nursing-approved school who has completed a basic nursing course and 16 hours of clinical experience.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or GED is preferred, but not required.
Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

Assist with basic health care needs and activities of daily living, including bathing, grooming, toileting, eating, meal preparation, and dining needs.
Support patients’ emotional and spiritual needs.
Administer delegated tasks and treatments.
Record vital statistics and other basic health information.
Collect non-invasive biological specimens from patients as needed.
Perform clerical work related to scheduling and documenting patient healthcare.
Prepare patient treatment areas and medical equipment for use; clean equipment and dispose of biomedical waste according to standards and policy.
Clean patient living areas or treatment rooms.
Provide one-on-one care to patients when necessary for safe care.
