About The Position

The Nursing Assistant PCU at Providence St. Joseph Hospital in Eureka, CA is a Full Time position working 12-hour Day shifts. The Nursing Assistant uses intellectual, interpersonal, and technical skills to provide basic patient care under the supervision of the Assistant Nurse Manager, Charge Nurse, or RN. This role involves assisting with routine, direct bedside care for patients of various ages, including personal hygiene, data collection, vital signs, intake and output, equipment use, ADLs, medical record documentation, answering call lights, and responding to emergencies. Requirements

National Provider BLS - American Heart Association (within 30 days of hire)

Nice To Haves

Nursing Assistant certification (upon hire)
Acute care or specialty experience (for other departments)

Responsibilities

Assists with routine, direct bedside care of patients of various ages as defined by the department scope of service.
Provides personal hygiene.
Performs data collection and observation.
Measures vital signs.
Monitors intake and output (I&O).
Operates equipment.
Assists with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs).
Documents on the medical record.
Answers call lights.
Recognizes and responds to emergency situations.
