The Nursing Assistant assists the RN with the daily care of patients, including bathing, oral hygiene, feeding, activity orders, and ambulation. This role involves measuring and documenting vital signs and patient data, performing purposeful rounding, and participating in patient admission, transfer, and discharge processes. The Nursing Assistant also collects specimens, performs point-of-care testing, completes errands, and manages patient nutritional needs and skin integrity. Additionally, they may perform tasks such as removing IVs, providing post-mortem care, and bladder scans under RN direction, while adhering to infection prevention policies and demonstrating age-appropriate care.
