About The Position

The Nursing Assistant provides patient care in a secure or locked correctional environment at Beaumont Correctional Center. The role requires knowledge of patient and personal care techniques and infection control, along with the ability to record vital signs, safely transfer and transport patients, recognize signs of distress, perform CPR, and intervene in crisis or problem situations. The position is part-time.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Possess and maintain a valid, unrestricted Virginia CNA license issued by the Board of Nursing. Recent Virginia CNA program graduates who are not yet licensed must have the NNAAP exam scheduled at the time of application.
• Knowledge of patient care, personal care techniques, and infection control measures.
• Ability to take and record vital signs; safely transfer and transport patients using proper body mechanics; recognize signs and symptoms of distress; and perform CPR.
• Ability to intervene in crisis or problem situations.
• Ability to work in a secure or locked environment.
• Ability to communicate effectively, take initiative, organize duties, and manage time.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for health care providers through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross is required upon hire.

Nice To Haves

• Experience working in a hospital, nursing, or secured patient environment.
• Computer skills, including use of Outlook and Microsoft Office.
