About The Position

Americare Senior Living is seeking a compassionate and dependable Nursing Assistant to join our skilled nursing team. This non-certified caregiver role is ideal for individuals who are interested in starting a career in healthcare — no prior certification required. We provide training to help you succeed. In this role, you’ll care for the physical and emotional needs of residents, helping ensure quality of life in a safe, home-like environment while offering support to families and visitors. You’ll work as part of an interdisciplinary team and maintain professionalism while meeting state and federal guidelines. The Nursing Assistant provides direct personal care and support to residents under the direction of licensed nursing staff. This role focuses on assisting with activities of daily living, promoting resident comfort and dignity, and supporting a positive care environment. Training is provided for candidates who demonstrate compassion, reliability, and a desire to grow in senior care. This role may also be known as: Nursing Assistant, Caregiver, Resident Care Assistant, or Patient Care Assistant.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Compassionate, dependable, and patient-centered approach
  • Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team
  • Willingness to complete required training and learn new skills
  • No certification or prior healthcare experience required
  • On-the-job training provided
  • Follow proper resident care procedures, including two-person lifts when required
  • Utilize required PPE to prevent exposure to bloodborne pathogens
  • Report work-related injuries within 12 hours and complete required documentation
  • Participate in company drug testing procedures

Nice To Haves

  • Interest in pursuing CNA certification is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct physical and emotional care to residents
  • Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs), including hygiene, dressing, toileting, meals, and mobility
  • Support resident comfort, dignity, and quality of life
  • Observe and report changes in resident condition to nursing staff
  • Accurately document care provided as trained
  • Assist with maintaining a clean, safe, and home-like environment
  • Offer courteous support to residents, families, and visitors
  • Work collaboratively with nursing and care team members
  • Follow all safety procedures, care plans, and facility policies
