Nursing Assistant
About The Position
Under the direction of a Registered Nurse (RN) or other licensed care team member, the Nursing Assistant provides direct patient care and related support by performing selected nursing procedures. They perform routine duties to assist medical and nursing personnel in the examination, treatment, and care of patients. This role is on a 20-bed telemetry unit (4H) that also admits progressive care populations (PCU). The unit specializes in post-operative CABG patients, cardiac surgery, valve replacement/repair, vascular surgeries, CHF, and moderate-risk chest pain patients. The patient population often has multiple co-morbidities and complex care needs, with patients transferred from ICU, ED, and PACU.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Current Kentucky Nurse Aide Certification required or successful completion of first year of a Nursing program and validation of a clinical rotation consistent with level of education.
- Must provide a letter from their school verifying the completion of their first year clinicals.
- Basic Life Support- Applicants will have 30 days from their hired date to provide completion of this certification if they don’t have it already.
