Nursing Assistant - Float Pool - Full-time - Days
About The Position

This role involves partnering with Nurses, Technicians, and other staff to provide comfort and caring, infuse energy and hospitality into a patient's day, and keep fast-paced environments running smoothly. The Nursing Assistant provides compassionate patient focus and performs select care duties under the supervision of a registered nurse, aiming to improve the patient experience and maintain a safe, clean, and healthy environment. Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Certification from an approved, accredited Nurse Assistant training program or current Enrollment in a BSN program & completion of at least 1 clinical rotation
- Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Basic computer skills
Nice To Haves
- At least 1 year of experience as a nurse’s aide in a hospital
Responsibilities
- Be an Advocate, a Care Taker, a Friend to Patients
- Serve as critical points of contact for patients and their families
- Monitor blood pressure and temperature of patients
- Ensure the delivery of meals and safe transport
- Infuse energy and hospitality into a patient's day
- Provide comfort and caring as a certified nurse’s aide at NYP-keeping our fast-paced environments running smoothly
- Provide compassionate patient focus and perform select care duties under the supervision of a registered nurse
- Improve the patient experience and maintain a safe, clean and healthy environment
- Measure and record temperatures, pulses, respiration and blood pressure
- Float to all units-in the hospital such as - Med-Surg- Critical Care-Psychiatry- Emergency Department or where needed
