Provide compassionate patient focus and perform select care duties under the supervision of a registered nurse. Improve the patient experience and maintain a safe, clean and healthy environment. Demonstrate what it means to be part of a team and raise the bar for patient care. Float to all units-in the hospital such as - Med-Surg- Critical Care-Psychiatry- Emergency Department or where needed. This is a full-time evening position at New York-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital, with weekends and holidays required. Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Certification from an approved, accredited Nurse Assistant training program or current Enrollment in a BSN program & completion of at least 1 clinical rotation
  • Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Basic computer skills

Nice To Haves

  • At least 1 year of experience as a nurse’s aide in a hospital

Responsibilities

  • Be an Advocate, a Care Taker, a Friend to Patients
  • Monitor blood pressure and temperature of patients, while ensuring the delivery of meals and safe transport
  • Provide comfort and caring as a certified nurse’s aide at NYP-keeping our fast-paced environments running smoothly
  • Provide compassionate patient focus and perform select care duties under the supervision of a registered nurse
  • Improve the patient experience and maintain a safe, clean and healthy environment
  • Measure and record temperatures, pulses, respiration and blood pressure
  • Demonstrate what it means to be part of a team and raise the bar for patient care
  • Float to all units-in the hospital such as - Med-Surg- Critical Care-Psychiatry- Emergency Department or where needed
