Nursing Assistant - Float Pool - Full-time - Days
About The Position
New York-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital is seeking a certified nursing assistant for a full-time day position in their Float Pool. This role is crucial for patient care, serving as a primary point of contact for patients and their families, and partnering with nurses and technicians. The Nursing Assistant will provide compassionate patient-focused care, perform select duties under the supervision of a registered nurse, and contribute to a safe, clean, and healthy environment. The position requires floating to various units within the hospital, including Med-Surg, Critical Care, Psychiatry, and the Emergency Department. Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Certification from an approved, accredited Nurse Assistant training program or current Enrollment in a BSN program & completion of at least 1 clinical rotation
- Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Basic computer skill
- Live within a commutable distance to NYP

- At least 1 year of experience as a nurse’s aide in a hospital
Responsibilities
- Act as an advocate, care taker, and friend to patients
- Serve as a critical point of contact for patients and their families
- Partner with Nurses, Technicians and other staff
- Monitor blood pressure and temperature of patients
- Ensure the delivery of meals and safe transport of patients
- Infuse energy and hospitality into a patient's day
- Provide comfort and caring as a certified nurse’s aide
- Keep fast-paced environments running smoothly
- Provide compassionate patient focus
- Perform select care duties under the supervision of a registered nurse
- Improve the patient experience
- Maintain a safe, clean and healthy environment
- Measure and record temperatures, pulses, respiration and blood pressure
- Demonstrate teamwork and raise the bar for patient care
- Float to all units in the hospital such as Med-Surg, Critical Care, Psychiatry, Emergency Department or where needed
