About The Position

This position exists for the purpose of providing direct resident care with a strong emphasis on geriatrics. Central to this care is health restoration and maintenance of our resident population. Employees will be able to utilize and follow the resident plan of care, which includes short and long-term goals. Employees will possess strong communication skills and works well on a team to enhance resident care, safety and dignity.

Requirements

  • Must be a graduate of an approved Certified Nursing Assistant program and must remain current on the Minnesota State Registry as a Certified Nursing Assistant.
  • At least 16 years of age.
  • Basic computer skills; Word, Outlook.

Nice To Haves

  • Certified Nursing Assistant experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Completes annual training as required by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services and the Minnesota Department of Health in a timely manner.
  • As a mandated reporter for vulnerable adults (VA), reports immediately when there is reason to believe there is evidence of maltreatment, including abuse and neglect, or the VA has sustained a physical injury which is not reasonable explained.
  • Displays a calm, positive, and supportive demeanor in interaction with and around residents and caregivers which promotes cohesiveness and morale.
  • Adapts well to changing needs and conditions including, but not limited to dementia, pain, and disability.
  • Able to prioritize and multi-task in busy environment while respecting resident choice and preference.
  • Strong attention to detail and non-verbal cues.
  • Maintains accuracy and thoroughness in documentation of resident care information.
  • Able to communicate in a clear and direct manner.
  • Proactively engages in workplace improvements.
