Nursing Assistant Observation Part Time Nights
About The Position
Seeking a Nursing Assistant for the Observation Unit at Baptist Health Floyd. This is a part-time position (24 hours/week) with night shifts (7pm-7am). The Nursing Assistant functions as an on-shift team member under the direction of the nurse, providing delegated aspects of patient care and routine non-patient care unit maintenance tasks. The Observation Unit is a 32-bed unit affiliated with the Emergency Department, observing patients expected to be in the hospital less than 24 hours. This unit cares for a variety of patients including chest pain, cardiac arrhythmias, heart catheterizations, laparoscopic cholecystectomies, UTIs, and DVTs. The unit is staffed with a provider between 7 AM and 5 PM daily to provide support and high-level care.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- BLS certification from approved BLS course required (training will be provided).
Responsibilities
- Provide delegated aspects of patient care.
- Perform routine non-patient care unit maintenance tasks.
