About The Position

Under the direction and supervision of a registered nurse, the Nursing Assistant provides basic nursing care to an assigned group of patients. Patient populations and care settings vary by unit, including general nursing, special care, maternal-child, nursery, pediatric, GI lab, chemical dependency, psychiatric, emergency, and surgical services. Care is delivered by clinically competent staff appropriate to the patient population and unit. The position requires completion of established competencies within the designated introductory period, along with other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• BLS certification obtained through an approved American Heart Association Training Center or the Military Training Network.
• Complete Non-Violent Crisis Intervention training within 60 days of hire or transfer to the position.

Nice To Haves

• Satisfactory completion of a Nurse Assistant, EMT, Paramedic, or Medical Assisting course.
• Six months of experience in the healthcare industry and/or knowledge of basic medical terms and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic nursing care to an assigned group of patients under the direction and supervision of an RN.
• Complete established competencies for the position within the designated introductory period.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
