The Nursing Assistant - MS4 Orthopedics position is a full-time role requiring 36 hours per week, primarily on the 1st shift (0645-1915). This role involves assisting Registered Nurses (RNs) with the daily care of patients, including bathing, oral hygiene, feeding, and assisting with mobility. The Nursing Assistant will also be responsible for measuring and documenting vital signs, intake and output, and other patient data in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR). They will perform purposeful rounding, assist with patient admissions, transfers, and discharges, and collect specimens for testing. Additionally, the role includes performing various errands, maintaining stock for the nursing area, cleaning equipment, and assisting with patient positioning and nutritional needs. The Nursing Assistant will also be involved in maintaining skin integrity and may be required to perform tasks such as removing IVs, providing post-mortem care, and performing bladder scans under RN direction. Adherence to infection prevention policies, including hand hygiene and aseptic procedures, is crucial. The position requires the ability to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served, demonstrating knowledge of growth and development principles.
