Nursing Assistant
About The Position
The 4H unit is a 20-bed telemetry unit, with 3 beds admitting progressive care populations (PCU). This unit specializes in post-op CABG patients, post-op cardiac surgery, valve replacement/repair, vascular surgeries, CHF, and moderate-risk chest pain patients. The patient population has multiple co-morbidities and complex care needs. Patients are transferred from ICU, ED, and PACU. Under the direction of a Registered Nurse (RN) or other licensed care team member, the Nursing Assistant provides direct patient care and related support by performing selected nursing procedures. They perform routine duties to assist medical and nursing personnel in the examination, treatment, and care of patients.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Current Kentucky Nurse Aide Certification required or successful completion of first year of a Nursing program and validation of a clinical rotation consistent with level of education.
- Must provide a letter from their school verifying the completion of their first year clinicals.
- Basic Life Support- Applicants will have 30 days from their hired date to provide completion of this certification if they don’t have it already.
