Requirements

• Successfully completed the 100-hour Nurse's Aide training course in accordance with New York State Department of Health.
• Passed the New York State Nurses Aide competency examination.
• Possess the appropriate valid New York State registration.

Responsibilities

• Assisting in walking, feeding and bathing patients and caring for their personal needs.
• Assisting in lifting and turning heavy or helpless patients.
• Handling patients based upon the maturity level at which they are currently functioning.
• Help regulate number of visitors and give information to visitors in accordance with instructions from the nurse in charge.
• Assembling information concerning the patient's condition and entering reports on the patient's record.
• Cleaning and sterilizing nursing home equipment.
• Caring for patients' clothes and turning over valuables to person designated by hospital.
