About The Position
At NewYork-Presbyterian Westchester Hospital, the Nursing Assistant provides compassionate, patient-focused care and performs selected care duties under the supervision of a registered nurse. The role supports patients and families, partners with nurses and other patient-care staff, and helps maintain a safe, clean, and healthy environment. The position is full-time, onsite, and on the night shift, from 11:00 PM to 7:15 AM, with rotating weekends and holidays. It is based in Bronxville, New York, across from the Metro-North station.
Requirements
- Current CPR training from the American Heart Association (BLS).
- Previous nurse’s aide experience in a hospital setting, or certification from an approved accredited Nurse Aid training program, or current enrollment in a BSN nursing program at the junior-year level or completion of at least one clinical practicum.
Nice To Haves
- High school diploma or GED.
- One year of experience in an acute care setting, or certification as a long-term care Nursing Assistant.
Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate patient-focused care and perform selected care duties under the supervision of a registered nurse.
- Support patients and their families and work in partnership with nurses, Patient Care Partners, and other staff.
- Measure and record patients’ temperatures, pulses, respiration, and blood pressure.
- Ensure delivery of meals and safe transport of patients.
- Help improve the patient experience and maintain a safe, clean, and healthy environment.
