About The Position

Edison State Community College invites qualified candidates to apply for the temporary, occasional, part-time/as needed position of Nursing Assistant - Workforce Development Instructor (Occasional, part-time). The Nursing Assistant - Workforce Development Instructor will provide classroom and clinical instruction on a part-time, as needed basis for the nursing assistant program. The instructor will ensure all regulatory instruction is delivered in accordance with state specific requirements. Requirements

  • Candidate must have a valid RN license through the Ohio Board of Nursing.
  • Have a minimum of two years of nursing, at least one of which must be in the provision of long-term care facility services.
  • Has obtained or willing to obtain Train-the-Trainer (TTT) certification in order to be in compliance with ODH NATCEP.
  • Annual TB testing required.
  • Vaccination required by clinical facilities (medical or religious exemptions are possible).
  • Computer knowledge and applications.
  • Valid RN license.
  • Two years or more of nursing, at least one of which must be in the provision of long-term care facility services.

Nice To Haves

  • Training or teaching experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Works with Workforce Development and Work-Based Learning office, and support staff at regional campuses.
  • Instructor will work closely with Edison State’s NATCEP Program Coordinator to ensure students receive proper training to receive their certificate of completion.
  • Participates in course scheduling and other necessary meetings or communication.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of the content and techniques, in terms of what is to be communicated, what is important, and how it applies.
  • Facilitate instruction and delivers content as outlined in the instructor materials.
  • Delivers classroom and clinical instruction at long term care facilities.
  • Integrates knowledge of industry trends and professional training to continuously improve program quality.
  • Maintain student records and enter grades when appropriate.
  • Leads and guides the learning process of the participants.
  • Accomplishes learning objectives within the scheduled time frame; keeps on track while being sensitive to participants’ needs.
  • Prepares and organizes charts, presentations, and other visual aids so that appearance, legibility, and content enhance learning.
  • Promote a professional educational environment by dressing in a manner appropriate to the teaching assignment.
  • Assist in the promotion of the program, when necessary.
  • Other related duties as assigned.
