About The Position

Under the leadership of the department director, assistant director, and charge nurse, the Nursing Assistant/Unit Receptionist/Monitor Tech will take vital signs and assist with activities of daily living and comfort measures for an assigned group of patients. This role also performs clerical and receptionist duties related to the assigned department. The Unit Receptionist/Monitor Tech is responsible for cardiac monitoring of all patients on the monitor, including rhythm, rate, and alarms. The position recognizes the importance of meeting customer expectations, demonstrates a positive attitude and efficient use of resources, and performs related duties as necessary to fulfill customer needs. Duties are performed according to the policy and procedures of CHOMP and the department under the direct supervision of an RN. The NA/UR/MT will be cross-trained to Safety Observation and fill in as needed.

Requirements

  • One year (in the last 2 years) of experience preferred in acute hospital or long term care setting
  • Must demonstrate knowledge of medical terminology
  • Strong computer skills
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Must be detail oriented
  • Must be organized
  • Exceptional phone etiquette
  • Communication skills
  • Able to work in a busy demanding work environment
  • Critical thinking skills are essential
  • A Certified Nursing Assistant course or relevant work experience is required
  • Must pass orientation and initial competency assessment prior to independent assignment
  • Must complete and pass all annual competencies
  • American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS certification is required
