About The Position

Under the direction/supervision of an RN, provides basic nursing care for assigned group of patients. The description outlines care for various patient age groups and conditions across different units, including General Nursing Units, Special Care Areas, Maternal Child Units (Labor and Delivery, Nursery), Pediatric, GI Lab Unit, Chemical Dependent Unit and Psychiatric Unit, and Emergency Unit, and Surgical Services. The role requires completing established competencies within a designated introductory period and performing other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High School Graduate or equivalent
• Must have active healthcare provider Basic Life Support on hire (ARC or AHA); however, must have AHA Healthcare Provider BLS within 60 days of hire.
• Non-Violent Crisis Intervention obtained with 60 days of hire or transfer to position.

Nice To Haves

• Satisfactorily completed a Nurse Assistant, EMT, Paramedic or Medical Assisting course.
• 6 months in healthcare industry and/or knowledge of basic medical terms and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Provides basic nursing care for assigned group of patients under the direction/supervision of an RN.
• Completes established competencies for the position within designated introductory period.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
