Nursing Assistant Surgical Acuity Adaptable 7C
About The Position
Corewell Health is offering up to $1500 as a sign on bonus for this opportunity. The unit is a 33-bed acuity adaptable unit (7C) designed for surgical patients requiring higher acuity/progressive level care. It operates on PFCC (Patient- and Family-Centered Care) principles to support patients and their families throughout their hospital stay. This unit provides an ideal environment for both seasoned and new graduate nurses, offering the chance to establish a shared governance model and shape the unit's culture. The Royal Oak Hospital is recognized by U.S. News & World Report as the #2 hospital in Michigan and a top hospital nationally. It functions as a major academic and referral center, holding Level I adult and Level II pediatric trauma designations. The hospital has achieved Magnet designation four consecutive times and is home to Michigan’s first Diagnostic Imaging Center of Excellence.
Requirements
- High school graduate or equivalent
- American Heart Association or American Red Cross Basic Life Support required
Nice To Haves
- Previous hospital or nursing home experience preferred
- Current CNA certification preferred
Responsibilities
- Provides care to the patient according to the plan of care, unit routine and hospital policy under the direction of a Registered Nurse.
- Safe transport of patients via wheelchair or stretcher, dispatch services and appropriate documentation of services.
- Provides the services of an Observer for any patient on a patient care unit who has been assessed to require constant observation, either in person or via remote video monitoring, to maximize his/her safety.
- Performs general receptionist and clerical duties to facilitate efficient functioning of the nursing unit.
- Documentation of care provided in the electronic medical record.
