About The Position

Lead worker over Certified Nursing Assistants to assure quality care and safety for our veterans, and assist and report to the Nursing Assistant Supervisor 2 when needed. Our mission of the Louisiana Veterans Homes is to serve the Veteran population of Louisiana through the provision of nursing assistant supervisor services in an atmosphere of respect and compassion. Requirements

Three years of experience in patient care
Possession of a current Certified Nursing Assistant certificate or graduation from an Emergency Medical Technician Program plus two years of experience in patient care
Completion of an accredited registered or practical nursing program plus one year of experience in patient care
Current Certified Nursing Assistant certificate (required for facilities receiving certain Medicaid or Medicare funds)

Responsibilities

Supervision and care of one of four care units, ensuring coverage and high-quality resident care in a 156-bed long-term care facility.
Leads and evaluates CNA staff performance.
Provides feedback to the Nursing Assistant Supervisor 2.
Recommends disciplinary actions when needed, and conflict resolution.
Promoting continuous improvement in nursing assistant care, delivery and adherence to policy and procedure standards.
Reports resident complaints and incidents, collaborating with Nursing Assistant Supervisor 2 to ensure care and resident safety.
Escorts/transports patients to examinations, clinics, recreation sites and other areas as needed.
