Nursing Assistant - PCU
About The Position
This position may qualify for a sign-on bonus. Under the direction/supervision of an RN, provides basic nursing care for assigned group of patients. The description outlines care for various units including General Nursing Units (age 15+), Special Care Areas (age 15+ with high-risk conditions), Maternal Child Units (Labor and Delivery, Nursery for newborns), Pediatric (neonate to 18 years), GI Lab Unit (toddlers 24 months+ to adult), Chemical Dependent Unit and Psychiatric Unit (adults), Emergency Unit (all ages), and Surgical Services (neonate to geriatric). The role involves completing established competencies within the introductory period and performing other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High School Graduate or equivalent
- Must have active healthcare provider Basic Life Support on hire (ARC or AHA)
- Must have AHA Healthcare Provider BLS within 60 days of hire
- Non-Violent Crisis Intervention obtained with 60 days of hire or transfer to position
Nice To Haves
- Satisfactorily completed a Nurse Assistant, EMT, Paramedic or Medical Assisting course.
- 6 months in healthcare industry and/or knowledge of basic medical terms and procedures
Responsibilities

- Completes established competencies for the position within designated introductory period.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
