Nursing Assistant - PCU
About The Position
Under the direction/supervision of an RN, provides basic nursing care for assigned group of patients. The description outlines care for various units including General Nursing Units (ages 15+), Special Care Areas (ages 15+ with high-risk conditions), Maternal Child Units (Labor and Delivery, Nursery for newborns, Pediatric for ages neonate to 18), GI Lab Unit (ages 24 months+), Chemical Dependent Unit and Psychiatric Unit (adults), Emergency Unit (all ages), and Surgical Services (neonate to geriatric). The role requires completing established competencies within the designated introductory period and performing other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High School Graduate or equivalent
- BLS-Obtained through approved American Heart Association Training Center or the Military Training Network
- Non-Violent Crisis Intervention obtained with 60 days of hire or transfer to position
Nice To Haves
- Satisfactorily completed a Nurse Assistant, EMT, Paramedic or Medical Assisting course.
- 6 months in healthcare industry and/or knowledge of basic medical terms and procedures
