Nursing Assistant - PCU
About The Position
Under the direction/supervision of an RN, provides basic nursing care for assigned group of patients. This position may qualify for a sign-on bonus. The description outlines care for various patient age groups and conditions across different units, including General Nursing Units (age 15+), Special Care Areas (age 15+ with high-risk conditions), Maternal Child Units (pregnancy-related conditions, newborns), Pediatric (neonate to 18 years), GI Lab Unit (24 months to adult), Chemical Dependent Unit and Psychiatric Unit (adults with emotional problems), Emergency Unit (all ages), and Surgical Services (neonate to geriatric).
Requirements
- High School Graduate or equivalent
- Must have active healthcare provider Basic Life Support on hire (ARC or AHA)
- Must have AHA Healthcare Provider BLS within 60 days of hire
- Non-Violent Crisis Intervention obtained with 60 days of hire or transfer to position
Nice To Haves
- Satisfactorily completed a Nurse Assistant, EMT, Paramedic or Medical Assisting course
- 6 months in healthcare industry and/or knowledge of basic medical terms and procedures
