The Technical Partner provides direct and indirect patient care under the direction of the RN or LPN. This role involves delivering direct and indirect patient care in accordance with hospital policies, procedures, protocols and standards of care. Responsibilities include performing and/or assisting with patient care needs, assisting patients with activities of daily living, responding to call lights and patient/family requests promptly, and collecting, documenting, and reporting patient care data. The role also includes measuring and documenting intake and output, obtaining daily weights, and collecting patient care equipment. Additionally, the Technical Partner may transport patients, perform various clinical skills such as taking vital signs, applying dressings, performing blood glucose testing, and assisting with patient education. They are expected to make regular rounds, communicate with healthcare providers, participate in performance improvement activities, and act as a patient advocate. The role also involves assisting with maintaining a safe and clean environment, adhering to infection control processes, and completing specimen collection and delivery. The Technical Partner also assumes roles during code situations and emergency responses.
