About The Position

Select Specialty Hospital Grand Rapids is a critical illness recovery hospital located on the 5th floor of Corewell Health Blodgett Hospital in Grand Rapids, Michigan. The hospital is committed to providing world-class inpatient post-ICU services to chronic, critically ill patients who require extended healing and recovery. Nursing Assistants (NA) play a central role in providing compassionate, excellent care. This is a Per Diem Dayshift position with hours from 7:00 am to 7:00 pm, paying $22.00 per hour with competitive shift differentials for nights and weekends. The role includes an extensive orientation program for a smooth transition and offers opportunities for advancement, potentially leading to full-time positions. Requirements

• High school diploma/GED OR relevant work experience (3+ years)
• Requires hospital experience as a nursing assistant, certification as a nursing assistant or experience in a related field (i.e. medical assistant)
• BLS is required within 90 days of hire

Responsibilities

• Perform services for patients including bathing using basin-less bath products, oral hygiene, oral feeding and care of hair
• Participate in hourly rounds
• Transport patients to and from various treatment centers when necessary, and assist transporters in moving patients in and out of stretchers and wheelchairs
• Maintain the cleanliness of various instruments and equipment such as bedpans, urinals and wheelchairs
• Keep patients’ rooms in clean and orderly condition
• Maintain unit stock levels of supplies and equipment as directed
• Performs other duties as assigned
