Nursing Assistant (NA I) - Adult Acute Care - Days
About The Position
Hugh Chatham Memorial Hospital is seeking a Nursing Assistant I (NA I) for their Adult Acute Care unit, specifically on the 2nd Floor Med Surg: IU. This is a full-time, benefits-eligible position working 40 hours per week on day shifts (7a-7p). The unit is a 61-bed medical-surgical unit that specializes in the care of orthopedic and stroke patients, serving a diverse population with a broad range of medical conditions and surgical needs. This fast-paced environment is ideal for developing strong clinical skills and managing a variety of patient cases, offering a dynamic setting for adaptable nurses who enjoy high activity and a wide spectrum of patient populations.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Completion of an applicable State Approved Nurse Aide I course required.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) required.
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Performs effectively with frequent workload changes and competing demands
- Basic computer skills
Responsibilities
- Participates in the implementation of the nursing process by giving direct care to patients under the direction of the Registered Nurse (RN).
- Performs special procedures correctly under the direction of Registered Nurse (RN).
- Creates and maintains a safe and therapeutic environment for patients, self, co-workers, and facility.
- Ensures complete, accurate and timely communication of patient information.
- Communicates to the team, co-workers, patients and family members in an effective, positive and professional manner.
- Takes personal responsibility and initiative for performance, professional growth and development.
- Provides age/developmental appropriate patient care in accordance with Age/Developmental Specific Care Guidelines for the specific age groups served.
