Nursing Assistant - L&D
About The Position
Under the direction/supervision of an RN, provides basic nursing care for assigned group of patients. This position may qualify for a sign-on bonus. The description outlines care for various units including General Nursing Units (age 15+), Special Care Areas (age 15+ with high-risk conditions), Maternal Child Units (Labor and Delivery for pregnancy-related conditions, Nursery for newborns, Pediatric for ages neonate to 18), GI Lab Unit (toddlers 24 months+ to adult), Chemical Dependent Unit and Psychiatric Unit (adults with emotional problems), and Emergency Unit (all ages). Surgical Services provides care from neonate to geriatric. Completes established competencies for the position within the designated introductory period. Other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High School Graduate or equivalent
- Must have active healthcare provider Basic Life Support on hire (ARC or AHA)
- Must have AHA Healthcare Provider BLS within 60 days of hire
- Non-Violent Crisis Intervention obtained with 60 days of hire or transfer to position
Nice To Haves
- Satisfactorily completed a Nurse Assistant, EMT, Paramedic or Medical Assisting course.
- 6 months in healthcare industry and/or knowledge of basic medical terms and procedures.
