About The Position
An individual who performs various patient care activities based on age and functional status, and related non-professional services in the Operating Rooms. This position includes, but is not limited to the following essential functions.
Requirements
- Basic cardiac life support (BLS) certification
- High school diploma required
- Must be able to lift 50lbs or more for long periods of time
Nice To Haves
- Minimum of one year experience in an acute care inpatient environment preferred.
- Nursing assistant experience preferred.
Responsibilities
- Follows approved/established techniques and procedures related to asepsis, infection control and safety.
- Performs all duties and tasks of an Operating Room Nursing Assistant, including room setup, transportation of patients, equipment retrieval, and room turnover.
- Performs between-case clean up in assigned OR's, including surface cleaning, floor cleaning, tables, etc.
- Hold retractors during procedures, once placed and positioned by the Physician and/or RNFA, while maintaining the sterile field.
- Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the core values of the Hospital.
