About The Position

The Nursing Assistant II in the Float Pool performs designated tasks in the provision of age-appropriate patient care under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse. This is a part-time position with a 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. schedule. The role includes obtaining and documenting reported height and weighing patients on admission, turning and positioning patients every two hours as indicated using proper body mechanics, and assisting with activity and ambulation as ordered. The Nursing Assistant also supports patients with personal hygiene and care, accurately records vital signs within established time frames, and performs consistent hourly rounds to promote patient safety and customer satisfaction.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
Certified Nurse Aid certification required upon hire.
One year of relevant job-related experience required.
Basic Life Support (BLS) required within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

Obtain and document reported height and weigh patients on admission, documenting the results.
Turn and position patients every two hours as indicated, using proper body mechanics.
Assist and promote activity, ambulation, getting patients up in a chair, and other activities as ordered.
Assist patients with personal hygiene, including showering, bathing, shaving, shampooing, perianal care, catheter care, and oral care.
Take and accurately record vital signs within established time frames.
Perform hourly rounds to ensure patient safety and promote customer satisfaction.
Provide designated age-appropriate patient care tasks under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse.
