About The Position

At Dungarvin, we are a mission-driven team providing support services since 1976, focused on respect, response, and choice. We offer person-centered supports to help individuals live as independently as possible. As a Nursing Assistant / CNA, you will work directly with people needing assistance, including those with intellectual or developmental disabilities or other complex medical needs, across 15 states. The role involves providing hands-on care, assisting with daily activities such as personal care, meal preparation, transportation, housekeeping, and laundry, all while promoting independence. You will also utilize your skills for healthcare tasks like monitoring overall health, assisting with transfers, and contributing to the development, implementation, and evaluation of individual medical care and programming. A key aspect of the position is creating and maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment that supports individuals in achieving their personal goals, along with providing supervision, positive reinforcement, and guidance.

Requirements

  • Must have completed an approved Nursing Assistant/CNA training and testing program within the last 10 years. Must provide a certification or transcripts of curriculum taken. Certification does not have to be current but may not be revoked.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Passion for Helping Others
  • Physical stamina to stay on your feet, walk, stand, and lift up to 50 lbs regularly.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
  • Basic computer skills for tracking progress and documentation.
  • Good communication is key in this role. You’ll rely on your reading, writing, and communication skills to document care, follow support plans, and collaborate with both internal and external team members.

Nice To Haves

  • If you have completed higher education in the medical field, you may also qualify for the role in lieu of a nursing assistant certification. Additional qualifications can be discussed during the interviewing process.

Responsibilities

  • Provide Hands-On Care: Assist individuals with daily activities like personal care, meal prep, transportation, housekeeping, and laundry, all while fostering independence.
  • Provide Health Care: Utilize your skills to monitor overall health, transfers and assistance with developing, implementing and evaluating individual medical care and programming.
  • Create a Safe & Welcoming Environment: Maintain a clean, safe space that ensures comfort and support while helping individuals reach their personal goals.
  • Mentor & Guide: Provide supervision, positive reinforcement, and guidance to help individuals achieve their aspirations.
