The Nursing Assistant (CNA) will assist the Registered Nurse (RN) with the daily care of patients. This includes tasks such as bathing, oral hygiene, feeding, activity orders, and ambulation. The role involves measuring and documenting vital signs and patient data, performing purposeful rounding, and participating in patient admission, transfer, and discharge processes. The CNA will also collect specimens, perform point-of-care testing, and complete various errands. Additionally, the position requires performing patient positioning and transporting duties, maintaining skin integrity, and potentially removing IVs, providing post mortem care, and performing bladder scans under RN direction. Adherence to infection prevention policies, including hand hygiene and aseptic procedures, is crucial. The role requires demonstrating knowledge and skills appropriate for the age of the patients served, understanding growth and development principles, and assessing patient status to provide necessary care.
