About The Position

This is a full-time, day shift opportunity for a Nursing Assistant (CNA) at St. Luke's Medical Center. Opportunities may be available on several units, offering 8 or 12-hour shifts. Weekend and holiday rotation will be required. The role involves direct patient care, including assisting with daily activities, mobility, feeding, vital signs monitoring, and providing emotional support. CNAs work closely with nurses and doctors, supporting procedures, transporting patients, and maintaining a clean environment. The position is fast-paced and requires adaptability to a high-pressure, high-turnover hospital setting.

Requirements

High School Diploma or the equivalent
CNA (WI Registry)
Compassion and patience
Strong communication skills
Attention to detail
The ability to use equipment (gait belts, transfer devices, lifts, etc) to care for patients

Responsibilities

Assist with daily activities like bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
Help patients with mobility: turning, repositioning, and transferring between beds and wheelchairs.
Serve meals and assist with feeding if needed.
Take and record vital signs such as temperature, blood pressure, pulse, and respiration rate.
Report any changes in a patient’s condition to nurses or doctors.
Set up medical equipment and assist during some procedures.
Transport patients to different departments (e.g., radiology, surgery).
Restock supplies and maintain a clean, safe environment.
Monitor patients for signs of distress or changes in behavior.
Document care provided and communicate observations to the healthcare team.
Offer companionship and reassurance to patients.
Communicate with patients’ families and help them understand care routines.
Assist with post-operative care.
Monitor vital signs frequently.
Support nurses during procedures.
Transport patients to tests or surgeries.
