The Nursing Assistant (CNA) - Ortho Neuro position at Advocate Sherman Hospital is a full-time night shift role within the Med Surg: IU Orthopedic and Neurology department. The CNA will assist the Registered Nurse (RN) with daily patient care, including bathing, oral hygiene, feeding, activity orders, and ambulation. Responsibilities also include measuring and documenting vital signs and patient data in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR), performing purposeful rounding, and assisting with patient admissions, transfers, and discharges. The role involves collecting specimens, performing point-of-care testing, completing errands, and managing patient positioning and nutritional needs. Additionally, the CNA will assist with maintaining skin integrity, potentially removing IVs, providing post-mortem care, and performing bladder scans under RN direction. Adherence to infection prevention policies, including hand hygiene and aseptic procedures, is crucial. The position requires the ability to provide age-appropriate care based on principles of growth and development.
