About The Position

Corewell Health is offering up to $750 as a sign-on bonus for new hires for this opportunity. 2 West is a 23-bed Med/Surg Unit and a 23-bed Post-Surgical Unit with friendly, welcoming staff who are willing to mentor new RNs. The unit handles medium to high acuity patients with a 5 to 6 patient ratio. The team is passionate about patient care and shared governance. Taylor Hospital is a Magnet-designated hospital and a recognized health care leader since 1977, offering specialty services including 24-hour emergency care, wound care and hyperbaric oxygen therapy, a surgical pavilion, a pain management clinic, orthopedic surgery, an inpatient rehabilitation facility, and full-service radiology.

Requirements

• High School Graduate or Equivalent, required
• American Heart Association or American Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS), required by completion of orientation.

Nice To Haves

• Current CNA certification, preferred.
• Previous hospital or nursing home experience, preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assists licensed nursing staff in providing direct patient care and helps in the environmental maintenance of the nursing unit under the direction of the Registered Nurse and within the scope of defined practice.
• Provides for personal care and safety needs of patients promptly under the supervision of licensed nursing staff, including specific procedures and patient testing addressed in the patient plan of care.
• Maintains an orderly unit environment with sufficient supplies and equipment to facilitate staff performance of patient care.
• Contributes to effective communication related to patient care and the efficient operation needs of the unit.
• Facilitates the admission, discharge, and transfer of patients on and off the unit in accordance with established policies and procedures.
