About The Position

Serves as the primary coordinator of the Nursing department. Perform administrative duties under the direction of the Director of Nursing. These duties may include scheduling appointments, maintaining medical records, billing, and coding information for reimbursement purposes. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Must have customer service experience.
  • Familiarity/experience with medical terminology, required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and function well in a high-paced (at times stressful) environment.
  • Ability to maintain a professional demeanor, with all stakeholders.
  • Valid driver’s license and auto insurance (use of personal vehicle required at times).
  • Acceptable background checks.

Nice To Haves

  • 1 – 2 years working in medical office, preferred.
  • Experience with EPIC, Therap, QuickMAR, or HRST a plus.
  • Medical Assistant certification, preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Receive, review, and track all incoming health/nursing information, ensuring the data entry is clear and concise.
  • Review all nurse visit documentation for completeness and compliance with guidelines and regulations.
  • Verify and process new physician orders as directed by Director of Nursing.
  • Update and maintain HRST, QuickMAR, and Therap with relevant medical information to ensure accurate record keeping.
  • Responsible for tracking all medication errors.
  • Organize and maintain the nursing department’s supply cabinets and distribute necessary supplies to nurses and caregivers.
  • Organize and maintain the nursing department’s biohazard waste account ensuring compliance with best practice measures and regulatory requirements.
  • Assist in the quality assurance processes, new admissions, compliance audits, and other nursing lead projects or events.
  • Ensure effective communication with outside entities or vendors and maintain open lines of communication with pharmacy and medical providers.
