This staff position will have an impact on improving patient safety by providing excellent mentoring and training of clinical staff in the first week of training and orientation in the Clinical Assistant Training Program (CATP). As part of the Center for Healthy Living team, you will provide training and mentoring to clinical assistant (CA) trainees on patient care, which may include personal hygiene tasks with a patient, proper lifting, and checking vital signs on the clinical site. Requirements

  • Graduate of a state-approved and/or accredited RN program required.
  • Valid State of Massachusetts Registered Nurse license
  • At least two years in clinical nursing
  • Experience as a preceptor or trainer
  • Basic Life Support certification required.

Nice To Haves

  • BSN strongly encouraged.
  • At least two years of health education

Responsibilities

  • Provide training and mentoring to clinical assistant (CA) trainees on patient care, which may include personal hygiene tasks with a patient, proper lifting, and checking vital signs on the clinical site.
  • Provide evaluations regarding trainees' abilities.
  • Adapt a teaching style to meet the needs of the trainees.
  • Collaborate with other Nurse Aide Training Specialists and Training Assistants to keep class content consistent.
